Studio Policy

Payment for piano study is due at first lesson of the month. Parents are asked to compute the amount due by multiplying lesson fee times number of lessons in current month.

Lessons missed will receive a tuition credit if I am given a 24-hour advance notice.

Communication

Please feel free to contact me at any time about your child’s progress. The combined efforts of student-parent-teacher always produce a superior result.

Lesson & Practice

Regularity of practice and lessons is the surest guarantee of success. Learning how to play piano is a great opportunity to develop discipline – to learn to schedule priorities and to understand there is not always enough time in the day to do everything, but to choose wisely those activities that are important. The piano requires the ability to study independently. Beginning students would do well to practice in small accounts every day. Intermediate students should be practicing 30-45 minutes per day. Advanced students should be practicing one hour per day. (These are minimums) However, if this is impractical, it is still important to have your lesson every week. Lack of practice is never a good reason to miss a lesson – the lesson is important even (or perhaps especially) if the student is unprepared.
